Floods

Now if I claim, based on a very old book, that the earth was once covered by a global flood, I get ridiculed as some kind of narrow-minded religious fanatic.

So why does Al Gore get an oscar and a hug from Oprah for his claims about the flood to come?

Anybody?

Does anybody really care that the Bush administration fired eight U.S. attorneys?

Political Trials

Scooter LIbby's wasn't the first politically motivated trial in history in which the witnesses couldn't agree among themselves, and in which there was no underlying crime:
And they led Jesus to the high priest.  And all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes came together.  Now the chief priests and the whole Council were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none.  For many bore false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree.  And some stood up, saying, "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.'"  Yet even about this their testimony did not agree.  And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, "Have you no answer to make?  What is it that these men testify against you?"
Mark 14:53,55-60 (ESV)

Not One Word

Well, it should be obvious I've been slacking on this blog.  I have been taking an Old Testament Survey class at the Front Range Bible Institute here in town, and it has eaten up my blogging time.  Given that, the best I can do is comment within that context.
Thus the LORD gave to Israel all the land that he swore to give to their fathers.  And they took possession of it, and they settled there.  And the LORD gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their fathers.  Not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the LORD had given all their enemies into their hands.  Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.
Joshua 21:43-45 (ESV)
And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great work that the LORD had done for Israel.  And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died at the age of 110 years.  And they buried him within the boundaries of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, north of the mountain of Gaash.  And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers.

And there arose another generation after them who did not know the LORD or the work that he had done for Israel.
Judges 2:7-10
