Again the LORD spoke to [King] Ahaz, "Ask a sign of the LORD your God; let it be deep as Sheol or high as heaven."
But Ahaz said, "I will not ask, and I will not put the LORD to the test."
And he said, "Hear then, O house of David! Is it too little for
you to weary men, that you weary my God also? Therefore the Lord
himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive
and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with Us].
Isaiah 7:10-14 (ESV)
And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping
watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord
appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they
were filled with fear.
And the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good
news of a great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you
is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the
Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby
wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger."
Luke 2:8-12 (ESV)
Merry Christmas.
